Overcoming obstacles...

I know I haven't posted in a couple weeks. I've still been doing things, but again its slowed down....What is my deal??? I start something, 2 weeks into it or so and I stop...I know one of the reasons. Weekend visits to visit my Dad. I'm not going to use it as a complete excuse. I have the will power to choose the foods I eat, to exercise, and a lot of the time I don't. I'm not consistent, which is key if I want to get past the 220's. I got down to 217lbs 2 years ago, and have not been down there since. I can't tell you the last time I weighed under 200lbs. Maybe 2006? And I was probably right around 200 then or just under. It is really time to take control. To stop giving in to my temptations and eating crap. I just need to focus....AND JUST DO IT.

As of right now, I am 225.2 lbs. My measurements have stayed the same since the last time I measured. These next 4 days are going to be the ultimate test for me! I am again headed down to visit my Dad, & attend a baby shower. I am going to be tempted with cake, dining out, comfort food, and lack of exercise.

My goals. 1) no cake. 2) Smart choices = more veggies, nothing drenched in dressing, as natural as possible. 3) Taking advantage of the hotel gym Sat, and working out in my Dads basement Thurs & Fri. Sunday can be a free day, but SMART CHOICES. Same with drinks.

I am going to write these down in my journal. And carry the damn thing with me to keep track of everything. CONSISTENCE IS KEY. What I have done since January is completely failed, but a learning opportunity, overcoming obstacles, and figuring myself out. I am still learning what works for me and what doesn't, and what does work is exercising, not eating dinner late, and smart choices. No free days.

Here I go, onto my next 90 day challenge! More to come on this challenge when I return.

OH BTW, I am officially registered for a 5k after this 90 day challenge. No excuses!

The moment of truth

Last Week: 230lbs
This Week: 225.8lbs

Total Lost: 4.2 lbs

I am very proud of myself for this week. I didn't workout 6 days, however I did get 3 or 4 workouts in, on top of being outside a lot, not really watching television and reading instead, and eating a lot better. 

I did not keep track of calories, however I do know what I was putting in my body, and feel that I ate 75% better than I usually would. 

Also I will measure myself next week, I think bi-weekly measuring is what I want to do instead of weekly measuring. 

Hoping for another 2lbs next week.

Since March I have gained 8lbs. SHAME ON ME.

I started back in my old habits. Eating out, drinking soda, not exercising.

Now I am 230lbs.

Week 9 Weigh-In [Mar 19]

I haven't blogged since the 8th!! OOps. I skipped last weeks weigh in. Okay so a few things have happened since then. I weighed in on Monday the 12th, and gained .2 lbs. Not that I had a bad week, I just wasn't in the zone where I had been.

Last week I only exercised twice =( boo.. had poor nutrition a couple nights (weakest time for me), but otherwise was on track. Drank shakeology everyday but Sunday (break day).



Starting Weight: 242.0
Weight last week: 225.6
Weight this week: 222.0 (my scale is not accurate. It changes everytime you step on the scale. I need a new one)
Total: 20lbs lost

3.6lbs lost give or take a lb or 2. Lost 4" all over as well.

Week 7 Weigh-In [Mar 5]

{ M E A S U R E M E N T S . A N D . S T A T I S T I C S }


This is my 7th week of making a healthy change in my life. Time flew by!
Last week I started a new program, insanity. I completed week 1, was 90% on my food, and worked out 6 days. You'd think I would lose weight....WRONG.

Starting Weight 1/17/12 - 242lbs
Before Detox: 226.4
Last week: 223.6lbs
This week: 225.4lbs

Average 2lbs lost per week, which is my goal!

I know I worked out. I know I ate well (except for 1 meal). I thought maybe confusing my body would be a good thing and thought maybe I would lose 1 or 2 lbs.. I did a detox 3 days prior to starting insanity. Was on a very strict calorie diet, and thought I might gain all my weight back. But I hope week 2 shows a really good number.

I'm hoping my heart rate monitor will be here by Wed or Thurs. This will really help me stay in my fat burning zone, and I can track my calories burned accurately. I am also keep track of my calories consumed more accurately this week as well.

Even though this week didn't have the results I was hoping for, I will check in again next week with my weight and measurements. I won't give up. I will continue 1 day at a time.

30lbs down

A lot has happened since vacation. I returned from vacation with the intentions of doing a 5k. Didn't happen, and need more time for that.
I also have has a TON of stress in my life, which has actually made me lose more weight. I haven't done as much exercise since coming back from vacation. I do however participate in co-ed softball which has been great so far.
I do still plan on sticking with the plan to lose 100 lbs by next year and I'm 30% there so far.

This morning I stepped on the scale and weigh 217lbs. So far 30lbs I've lost! This is less than I weighed before getting pregnant with Wesley! I know its been atleast 3 years or more since I've weighed this and I'm super proud to have been able to keep it off!

The next few months are crucial and I want to get back into doing my workout videos, walks/jogs with the dog.

Hopefully next update things will be looking up in my life and the stress will have settled a bit.

Back from Vacation!!

I'm back!!! Wooohooo. It was a wonderful vacation but I'm glad I'm home and can get back doing things again. 

I was super surprised when I stepped on the scale this morning and it read 227.8lbs.
Before vacation I was 230.8. 

3lbs down for the 2 week vacation. Wonderful! I did exercise for a week while I was in Sedona playing tennis and swimming. For the most part I ate healthy. I ate what was made but I didn't overeat. I did have some drinks but only drank water other than that. Ok so I did have 2 sodas in Sedona but they didn't even taste that good so I stuck with water!

Have a lot of unpacking and things to do today. Tata for now =)

Weigh-in Wednesday #3 [June 2]

Another week down!
Lets weigh-in!!

Last week I was 238.6lbs
This week I am 233.6lbs
Total weight loss = 5.0lbs 
WOW!

This last week I didn't use the gym at all!! I only exercised 5 days. Fri and Sat were "lazy" days. But I made up for it on Sunday with 2 bike rides and a workout!
I'm totally loving the Biggest Loser Last Chance Workout! I totally recommend it for those of you who want to exercise but don't like the idea of a gym or can't afford a gym. A used copy is only $8 on amazon, or if you were like me, I just got mine off Netflix to try it out! All you need are a pair of weights which you can get at Wal-mart or any sports store. I am using 3lb weights and I can feel it!
And today or tomorrow I should be getting the Barrys Bootcamp Workout system, which will be great because I can take it with me when I go to Arizona in 3 weeks!

And I hope some of you weigh in with me this week!! I've had no one weigh in and its really simple to just add yourself to the linky!!

Weigh-in Wednesday #2 [May 26]

I just realized I forgot to weigh in on here. I thought I posted a blog post but I guess I was wrong. Its been a busy week but better late than never!



Today is Saturday, not Wednesday. My bad!
Lets weigh-in!!

Last week I was 243.8lbs
This week I am 238.6lbs
Total weight loss = 5.2lbs 
WOW!

This last week I went to the gym to exercise. It was great but I was still pretty clueless with what to do since I haven't been to the gym in a long time. I did weight lifting the first day with a little bit of cardio. Boy were my arms tired by the end of the day. 2nd day was cardio, 3rd day I did an exercise class, 4th day did exercise @ home, 5th day went to the pool to swim, and 6th day exercise @ home.
I like the gym but wish I had more instruction.

Weigh-in Wednesday #1 [May 19]

I've finally updated all of my measurements and posted my "before photos".
They are posted in the "The challenger - Jenilee" page. 


Today is Wednesday.
This is the first week of weigh-in Wednesday! Yay!!
Lets weigh-in!!

Last week I was 247lbs
This week I am 243.8lbs
Total weight loss = 3.2lbs

The first week I didn't have a gym at all. I did mostly the wii fit, bike riding, and watched my calories! Counting calories makes a big difference.
I write everything down in a journal. And at night I go to MyFitnessPal and record all of my food and exercise for the day. It takes time. But what helps make it easier is to write down the calories, fat, fiber and protein on each thing you eat in your journal and then you can match it up to the correct ingredient. Give yourself a half hour at night each day to do it. I really recommend it until you've memorized a lot of the foods or have a pretty good estimate of calories.

Weigh-in #1

Last week I was 247lbs

Today I was down to 243.2lbs

I lost 3.8lbs this week without a gym!!!
Only 99lbs left. 

Now that I am using the school gym I will be able to do more weight lifting and do other kinds of cardio! 
Plus I want to do a class each week as well. 

I pretty much know what I'm going to be doing each day.

Today was upper body/lower body weight lifting
Tomorrow is cardio
Wed upper/lower body + abs
Thurs Cardio - POOL
Fri - upper/lower body

They aren't open on the weekends. But Sat I'm going to do cardio, either bike riding, or more wii fit!

I will do upper/lower body probably until I leave for Arizona just because both areas have been deprived for a very long time.

Then when I get back I can alternate days.

Plus I'm going to be partaking in a new challenge.
